Don’t Waste the Holiday Season - Keep Up Your Marketing!

The holiday season is upon us, and you may already be feeling overwhelmed and ready for a break. We totally get it! 2021 was another doozy of a year.

But we’re here to urge you not to let this season go to waste—keep up with your marketing strategy, even if your sales are great.

Don’t Count on the Season for Sales

Many businesses make the mistake of counting on the time of year for good sales. The holiday season may be when you turn a profit for the year. But even if a record number of orders are coming in right now and your bottom line is looking great, you should still be in marketing mode.

If 2020 taught us anything, it’s that life as we know it can change in an instant.

So, don’t count on the season for sales…capitalize on it!

If you don’t already have a plan in place, here are a few easy ways you can market your business during the holiday season.

  • Focus on customer service and customer experience. We all know this time of year can be stressful for everyone. You can make things a little bit easier on your customers by offering them solutions to problems they’re facing and by keeping all interactions with your business positive. 
  • Say thank you! Saying thank you to your customers for supporting your business is always a good idea. You can go a step further and find other creative ways to show your appreciation for them—offer special loyalty discounts or send personalized cards or emails.
  • Retarget. Put your email list to good use by following up with customers during the holidays—remind them that the items they were looking at are still in their cart, check in to see if they have any questions, and send suggestions for products and services that complement those that they have purchased from you in the past.
  • Add hashtags to your social media posts. If you’re already posting on social media, take some time to optimize those posts for hashtags. It’s an easy way (especially on Twitter and Instagram) to reach a broader audience.

Get a Head Start on Next Year

If you already have a solid marketing strategy for the holiday season, that’s awesome! But now is not the time to rest! 2022 is just around the corner, so use this time to plan ahead for next year.
