Staying Strong in the Fourth Quarter

In football, coaches often talk to their teams about staying strong in the 4th quarter. For the coaches and players, the end of September marks the beginning of the heart of their season.

For many entrepreneurs, it means the start of a new fiscal quarter, often the final quarter of a business’ calendar year. And just like a football team, you’ll want to stay at your best to close out the season. If you haven’t already, it’s a good time to reflect on the challenges and opportunities available over the next few months. Many save such reflections for the end of the year, but there’s nothing to be gained by waiting for today’s news to become yesterday’s history.

What goals have you set for your business between now and the end of Q4, and what are you doing to meet them? What plans do you have in store that will truly ‘wow’ your customers?

Q4 is waiting. Here are just a few goals that you might set:

  • Launch a new product or expand on your existing offerings to your customers. The fourth quarter of the year is the busiest time of the year for retail outlets. With all that buying and selling going on, it could be the perfect time to unveil something new.
  • Write a new ebook. One of the best ways to bring in new customers is to offer them exciting content. It can be a great gateway to generating new leads and creating exposure in a new market.
  • Create a membership site. This is a specific area of your website that contains premium content that is only available by subscription. If you’re an expert on a particular topic, why not leverage that expertise and turn it into a sustainable revenue source? There are several products that can get you started along that path, including Infusionsoft and our own JoomFuse integration app for Joomla site owners.

If you’re not heavily involved in retail, Q4 can seem like a time to slow down. With colder weather setting in, people are headed indoors and getting ready for the holidays. But there’s no reason for you to slow down. Set your goals and put yourself in a position to play your best as the 4th quarter begins.
