No matter what your walk of life, you’ve seen natural talent in action. It could have been a sports phenom who made the extraordinary look easy. Maybe it was that girl who shredded advanced calculus without breaking a sweat. Whatever their field, these folks just seem to glide through challenges, leaving rest of us mere mortals to grind it out. You can’t help but be a little jealous sometimes.

If you want to connect with your customers, an email list is a must. So we’ve created a six-part series on building this invaluable link to your customer base. Here are 5 ways to build your list using your website:
Create a pop-up for each page of your website.
This is probably the most popular way to build an email list through a website. But don’t fret. Pop ups aren’t as bothersome as they sound. Have you ever seen someone get up on their ‘soapbox’? It’s called a soapbox because soap used to come in wooden crates and if you wanted to speak in public you stood up on one so everyone could see you. They were also free to ignore you as well, which is why the phrase took on a negative meaning. The idea became pretty clear. A call-to-action is great, but if it doesn’t motivate your audience, then it’s a waste of your time and theirs.

When it comes to effective marketing, you want to do more than just talk at a prospective client. You want to talk TO them. You want to build a relationship with them, to become their friend. And so like a helpful friend you try to anticipate their questions and provide answers, often in the form of nurture emails. The only problem is that people sometimes don’t listen to their friends. If the friend doesn’t have anything relevant or interesting to say, they’ll tune them out. The same is true with the nurture emails you’ve been sending out.
